Check in

One week down and I'm feeling pretty good.

Here is a review of the last week.
today's weight 194.6 (loss of 1.8)...I'll take it!!

I was able to stay on track most of the week, even with family in town for the holiday weekend. I did have 3 peeps, and about 20 jelly beans, but other than that, I didn't gorge on too much Easter candy.

I had several grilled chicken salads with oil based dressing and several steaks with veggies.

I made twice baked cauliflower from Kalyn's Kitchen. OMGoodness...it was soooo good. I made a pretty large batch for dinner friday night and the family says they liked it, but there were still plenty of left overs...I have enjoyed those leftovers every day since. I am having the last little bit for lunch today.

I am exploring more south beach phase one recipes from Kalyn's Kitchen. She has so many that sounds wonderful. I even bought the big bag of avocado's at Costco in hopes I would use them all. Last night I put one in the food mill for the baby and he loved it. I have plans for another one with this recipe for Avocado, tomatoes, edamane and red onion. It sounds great.

New day

So here I am again...formulating another plan in my mind, but not on paper (or digital paper aka blog).

Here are the starting figures
weight 196.4
height 5 ft 3 inches
waist - 35.25 inches
bicep - 14.25 inches
neck 13.5 inches
hips - 48 inches
thigh - 27 inches

I have decided to follow the south beach guidelines again. I find success when I follow the plan an eliminate the white bread, processed foods and stick to more lean protein and veggies.

I want to wake up early and get in a work out. I say I want to, I need to, I have to. I can easily talk myself out of this step.

So here are the rules

eat lean protein, no white bread, no white rice, no potatoes, no corn..follow Phase 1 south beach list.
workout (wii fit for 30 mins or treadmill for 30 mins) 3 days a week.

Weigh in weekly (on Wednesdays) and report it here.

Keep control over eating this holiday weekend.

Dusting off

I'm dusting off this blog that I have been very bad about paying attention to. Along with that I have been very bad about paying attention to me and my weight. I am currently at 196.6 as of this morning and very little have happened since having the baby.

So I need to take action. Calories counting is starting up again.

Today
Breakfast - whole wheat toast and 1T Peanut butter (200 cals)
2 c coffee with splenda and cream = 30 cals

snack - 24 raw almonds (160 cals) Special K protein water 30 cals

Unmotivated

I have been so unmotivated lately. I'm just not in the exercise or "pay attention to what I eat" mode.

Going over my day here is what I ate:

Breakfast - 2 string cheese pieces, small can of V-8
2.5 Coffees with slenda and 15 cal creamers in each

snack - 1 peanut butter cookie (our Boss's Day present to our Boss)

lunch - Butternut squash lean cuisine

more cookies - 3 more to be exact

Dinner - pecan crusted chicken breast, yukon mashed potatoes, green beans

post dinner snack - chips and salsa

halloween pack of peanut M&M's

So not the meal plan of a person paying attention to what they are eating.

I have been putting it off to, "Oh, I'm nursing, can't restrict my calories too much"...yeah right, cookies are essential to nursing mothers.

I peeked at the Weight Watchers website the other night. I am thinking about it. I know I will have to be ready mentally or it will be a complete waste of my time and money.

just putting it all out there..

Challenges

I am loving the weekly and daily challenges that have been suggested on other blogs. Summer at Something to chew on is making daily challenges and Lyn at Escape from Obesity is making weekly changes.

They have some great ideas of added some healty changes to your day. I think this week I will focus on the one they have in common...drink more water. Since staying at home, I think my water intake has slowed down. I am off routine and I will make an effort to get more water in my day.

Yesterday was a good food day for me. I started with a smoothie at 9am, then a Nutty Mixed up Salad from Jason's Deli at 12:30. It was so good!!

Then I had an afternoon snack of a Grande Non-fat Vanilla Latter from SB's.

It was leftover night at our house for dinner. For me this meant chicken, spinach, & Orzo soup that a neighbor made and some black bean, corn dip with some chips.

I had a bag of Annie's cheese bunnies as an evening snack.

Then we went for a 2.5 mile walk to Starbucks, where hubby bought me a green tea.

That is the best day I have had in a long time.

Checking in

I have already fallen off the wagon so to speak. This getting back to healthy habits is going to be a lot harder than I thought. There have been some low points in the last week or so since I last posted.

Low points are:
I have been eating candy..sneaking it actually. I say sneaking because I am doing purposely when hubby isn't at home.
Not cutting back when i go out to eat.
And going out to eat too often
This weeks weight is 196.8 (yuck)

High points are:
I bought the Biggest loser DVD and worked out to it twice since getting it last week.
I went on a LONG walk with the family on Saturday and Sunday.
We even kicked the soccer ball around the park on Sunday.

Weigh in

My Monday weigh in was 194.8. Not a big loss, but a loss none the less. I haven't done well this week and it is only Tuesday, but that means there is time to get back on track. I did well with my exercise on Sunday. The kiddo and I went to the park twice that day and played. Since then I had an old friend in town visiting and that has lead to my eating downfall. Man that was easy, a little out of town guest and me eating right it out the window.
